Most People Don't Realize They're Living Through History

One of the interesting things about history is that people rarely recognize it while they're living through it.

The people experiencing the Industrial Revolution didn't call it the Industrial Revolution.

The people witnessing the rise of the internet didn't know how profoundly it would change communication, commerce, education, and everyday life.
For them, it was simply the present moment.

I often wonder if we're experiencing something similar with AI.
Most conversations focus on today's tools, today's headlines, and today's announcements.

But future generations may look back and see something much larger.
Not simply the emergence of a new technology.
The beginning of a new era.
The challenge is that when you're living through a historic shift, there is no roadmap.

There is only the responsibility to think carefully about the choices being made along the way.

History is often shaped long before we realize we are making it.
The question is whether we'll recognize this moment for what it was only after it has already changed us.
